Hercules of (Android) Phones – Saygus V2 with 320GB Memory

saygus v2 - 1

Yes I am talking about a phone here and not a tablet or a laptop. Saygus V2 was on display in CES 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Before today like most of you I did not hear about this company or the brand. Saygus is a start-up from Utah and V2 phone appears to be built in US, just like recent Motorola phones. Now let’s talk about the phone itself –

saygus v2

Features Details My Opinion
Storage 64GB + 2X icroSD slots, each accepts card upto 128 GB Total makes it to 320 GB.

128GB cards are not that cheap though. Amazon sales them for around $100.

Root and Boot capability Root Access available + Multi-Boot This is a fascinating feature of this phone. Superuser permission available to the user so it can take any custom rom.

And also has multi-boot capability which means that phone can run software from either 64gb onboard storage or from any of the 2 SD cards.

HD Wi-Fi 60 Hz WiFi Another interesting feature.

Phone’ screen can be mirrored to TV via USB or HDMI port using HDMI dongle.

Range is 40 feet.

And has dual-band Wifi (2.4G/5G)

Screen 5”1920*1080 445 ppi

I was expecting larger screen size and QHD resolution but by no means full HD should be considered as inferior when it comes to 5” screen.

Also it has true edge-to-edge screen.

Android Version Kitkat 4.4.4 Will be upgraded to Lollipop soon
Battery 3100 mAh Removable battery

Support for wireless charging

Audio Stereo Speakers not mono Support for HD Audio
Camera Rear – 21 MP

Front – 13 MP (wow, going to be good for ‘selfies’)

Rear cam has Optical Image Stabilization i.e. OIS, Auto Focus and Dual Flash.

First phone where front cam also has OIS.

Weight 141g For comparison –

iPhone 6 – 130g

iPhone 6 Plus – 172g

Galaxy S5 – 145g

Sensors GPS, Gyroscope, Accelerometer, Compass, Proximity, Ambient Light Usual Stuff
Other notable features Waterproof – IPX7 rating

Biometric Fingerprint Scanner

First phone with IPX7 rating. It means phone can withstand incidental exposure to water of up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes
